I hope that you were able to join us and enjoy this year’s Commissioning Day festivities. We set a new high-water mark for attendance at a GYC event; space was at a premium as the docks, causeway and parking lot were all at capacity.

Next up on the schedule, Fred and Anne Osborn have extended us an invitation to sail with them on the legendary Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. This will take place on Saturday, July 18th. As we’ll leave from Beacon and sail to Garrison, participants may wish to take the train to Beacon first thing. As of this writing, we’ll plan to set sail at 8:30 a.m. Please contact the Fleet Captain if you’re interested in reserving a spot. Attendance is limited to fifty.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Many thanks,

In addition, we’ll be treated to a must-see musical performance by the lovely and talented Eilen Jewell and her band.

Eilen’s appearance at this event is sponsored, in part, by the generosity of Nick Roberti’s Marine of Kingston, Polhemus Construction of Garrison, Samalot Marine of West Haverstraw and Sea Tow Central Hudson of Cold Spring. And special thanks go out to Fred and Anne Osborn for putting up Eilen and her band at Cat Rock.

You may address any questions to the Fleet Captain or, if necessary, the able and willing Vice Commodore may be reached on the club phone at (845) 803-6785. Otherwise, please make your check payable to Garrison Yacht Club and send it to P.O. Box 176, Garrison, NY 10524.

Finally and very important: we need to get an accurate headcount to Dutchess Manor by Sunday, March 29th. So please don’t leave this until the last minute. Help us out and sign up today!

Welcome to the Garrison Yacht Club.
Things are going well with the docks and grounds nearly complete and some new faces. For the next month there are a few things to remember: Contact our Fleet Captain, Neil Bloch regarding upcoming events. Help him get a proper tally for ordering food and securing entertainment. Our Commodore, Rob Harnett is now looking for your feedback regarding GYC gear in the way of shirts and hats. Finally the Vice Commodore Will Faherty asks for bodies for the work party the last Saturday of the month. Please remember, all boating members must submit their vessel’s insurance information! Now stop reading this and give your boat some attention!
