Bannerman Castle is located on Pollopel island, 6 3/4 acres of mostly rock in the Hudson river near Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, and an easy 20 minute ride up the river from our Marina. It was built by Frank Bannerman VI, not as a home, but as a place to store items such as weapons and ammunition that he purchased at government auctions. Bannerman Castle Trust is now in charge of the historic site, and is dedicated to preserving Bannerman Castle as an educational, cultural, historical, and recreational facility that promotes heritage tourism in the Hudson Valley. Tours are provided by the trust, as private docking is not allowed.
